Easter is almost upon us and rather than having the usual easter egg, my wife and I were wondering what we could do for our little girl. She is fast approaching Eight and still believes in the Easter Bunny. We were bouncing ideas off each other as what we could get her for an Easter surprise when I was contacted by @BakerDays through Twitter. This was the answer my wife and I were looking for, as an alternative to the otherwise standard Easter Egg. Like most children who can’t resist the smell of cake or to try something new, this was one opportunity we were not going pass on. Watching our daughter eat a piece of cake with her name on it, is more than magic, it will be a golden moment which she would always remember.
After making our choice, the cake arrived in a metallic tin to preserve the freshness of the cake, while also ensuring the cake was fully protected from the rigors of being sent through the mail. Let’s face it, we have all had mail which has turned up through our letter box, either torn, absolutely wet through or ended up being badly chewed up, if you have a dog who gets to your mail before you do. Baker Days take every care ensure your letterbox cake arrives meeting their own high standards, so you can enjoy your cake and eat it.
When the LetterBox cake arrived, it came with a small card so you can write a small message of your own. Enclosed in the packaging were two small chocolate eggs and small leaflet, which displayed all the other designs Baker Days has to offer.
Who Are Baker Days?
Baker Days is UK based company based in Nottinghamshire, which delivers tasty cakes all throughout the UK. All of their cakes are handmade and can be customised from anyone of their designs found on their website, or with any design of your choice. Baker Days offered me anyone of their designs from their Easter range. I eventually went for the ”Easter Chick Cake‘ and had my daughters name written below the chicken. I knew this would help our daughter feel Egg-stra special.
The Letterbox cakes are sent through the mail and designed to fit through your letterbox with minimal fuss. Another benefit of having the letterbox cake sent through the mail, so I can ensure I get the mail first while our daughter is at school. That way, she doesn’t get to spoil the surprise.
Moment of Truth
Not long after our evening meal, I decided I would surprise Sylvia with her Easter Chick Cake by letting her have a slice early. She was very eager to have us cut our her name so she could eat that part of the cake.
It didn’t take long for her complete gulp down the slice of cake with her name on it. I think Mum and Dad decided to give her a helping hand, by having their own slice of cake too.
Overall Sylvia was highly pleased to receive a letterbox bake with her name on it. It looks like my wife and I came across a winning idea with his cake and may try something similar in the near future.
