Avengers Captain America Cupcakes
There is nothing like escapism like Superhero comics and when Disney launch a bunch of movies, especially when it comes to the Avengers and first great Avenger Captain America. I am currently enjoying the latest Marvel and DC movies and Yes, I am one big geek, with plenty of items in my man cave which clearly demonstrate my love for Marvel. Today we have a fun and easy recipe for Avengers Captain America Cupcakes which has been shared by my wife Angela from The Inspiration Edit. You can bake from scratch which my daughter loves to do or you could purchase cupcakes and just do the icing. This would be fun to do for a SuperHero themed party. Let me know what you think!

Let’s Make It
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and line a 12 count muffin tin with cupcake liners. Combine the 1/2 cup softened butter, 2 eggs, sugar, vanilla extract, baking powder and milk, mixing well. Bake the cupcakes for 18-20 minutes. Around 18 minutes, insert a toothpick into the cupcakes and if it comes out clean the cupcakes are done.
Remove the cupcakes from the oven and let cool completely. Once the cupcakes have cooled, gently roll out the red fondant to about 1/8″ (5mm) thick. If the fondant starts to get sticky, use a little bit of powdered on the rolling pin and rolling surface.
Use the largest 2.75″ cookie cutter to cut out the red fondant. Frost the top of the cupcake and place the large red fondant circle on top. Next, roll out the white fondant and use the 2.25″ cookie cutter. Apply a small amount of frosting on the back of the white fondant and stack on top of the red.
Next, use the 2″ inch cookie cutter on the red fondant, apply frosting to the back of the circle and stack on top of the white fondant circle. Next, roll out the blue fondant and use the smallest 1.5″ cookie cutter to cut a blue fondant circle. Apply a small amount of frosting to the back of the blue fondant and stack on top of the other colours. Lastly, use the small star cookie cutter to cut out a white fondant star and stack on top of the cupcake. Repeat with all cupcakes.
This recipe makes approximately 12 Superhero cupcakes. Let me know what you think!

Those look fantastic. Must confess I’m a bit confused about the origins of Captain America – he’s the one Marvel character who is a bit of a mystery to me. Like his cupcakes though!
He was the first Avenger and was the result of a super solider experiment which he was the sole recipient of. Fast forward a few years, Bruce Banner tried to recreate the same experiment and then became the Hulk instead.

Wow these are amazing! I am a terrible baker but more than that, I’m terrible at decorating cakes too! Mine would love these!
You don’t have to bake them, but you could purchase them before hand and then just decorate them separately.
